Application Bulletin - Machine Tool

Machine Tool - CNC Twin/Dual Tables X,Y & Z Axis

Intercon’s Zimmer clamping elements can be used in any axes where rigidity is a concern, to hold proper tolerances in any cutting, grinding or routing application. Vertical axis holding ability in “power off” conditions can save the machining head from crashing.

Clamps can also hold tables when not being operated. This provides excellent damping ability thereby reducing chance of micro vibration, which can cause premature block and rail failure.

Truly the most versatile clamping element in any scenario – the MKS MKRS, KWHS and MBPS series. Available in sizes 15 to 65.

KWH - Holding with a Hydraulic Clamp

KWHsm.jpgA normally open hydraulic clamp for heavy loads. The pressurized hydraulic oil pushes against the contact sections via a piston mechanism directly onto the flanks of the sectional guide rails. The pressure membrane technology provides the highest operational reliability and zero backlash.
Supporting Forces up to 10,341 lbsf (46,000N)

MBPS - Pneumatic Braking Element

MBPSsm.jpgA normally closed brake, which requires pneumatic pressure to open. Higher holding forces are obtained from heavy-duty springs, which require multiple pistons connected in series to release the spring force. Ideal for applications with limited space because of its small envelop size.
Supporting Forces up to 1056 lbsf (4,700N)

MK/MKS - Pneumatic Clamp

MKMKSsm.jpgThe patented wedge driving gear moves in a longitudinal direction when spring pressure is applied to the piston. The resulting transverse movement presses the contact sections with high supporting forces against the free surface of the guide rail. Additional holding force can be obtained by using the PLUS Connection.
Supporting Forces up to 674 lbsf /124 lbsf (3,000N / 5,000N)

MKRS - Holding with a Pneumatic

MKRSsm.jpgThe patented wedge driving gear moves in a longitudinal direction when pressure is applied to the piston. The resulting transverse movement presses the contact sections with high supporting forces. Available in both IMPERIAL and METRIC.
Supporting Forces up to 449 lbsf (2,000N)
